Combination Tools for Polypropylene Strapping

Combination tools are by far the simplest in operation, however they do lack some of the flexibility afforded by using a two piece tool set.

Designed almost exclusively for use on flat surfaces, these tools are combination of ratchet tensioner, sealer and cutter all in one piece. The leading end of the strap is fed around the box/pallet and clamped into the combination tool, the other end, that leads back to the coil of strap is the fed through the capstan and tensioned to the correct tension for the package. You then simply insert a seal into the space below the crimper and over both pieces of now tensioned strap, bring the crimper into position and push the arms apart, this closes the jaws around the seal and the crimp is complete, the down stroke of the arms simultaneously closes the scissor cutter, cutting off the strap from the coil.

There are quite a number of different models to choose from in the marketplace at the moment. For ease we have chosen an economy model that has proved to be extremely reliable in operation, this machine is of Far Eastern construction and consists of a die cast base plate and arms. This machine should prove robust for most packing room situations but being die cast tends not to like being dropped from mezzanine floors of run over with fork trucks (you may laugh!! but it does happen). This particular model is only really suitable for standard seals, the throat is too narrow to accept a 32mm seal, primarily designed for use on light to medium loads. It is not a problem for us to supply heavier duty versions of this tool, a sort of middle ground between this and the other machine featured, please ask the office and we would be happy to quote. This is an altogether different beast, working in an identical way to the economy model, the Series 2000 machine is manufactured in the UK and constructed from heavy gauge steel and machined parts, no die cast components to snap under the harshest of treatment. This thing ain't pretty but if it is reliability and durability you are after then this is the one for you. This machine will accept both standard and heavy duty seals, it will not safely crimp the compression seals however as it leaves a sharp metal edge protruding from the closed seal. The Series 2000 is designed for all load weights and strap combinations. Priced at £225.00.
