SELF ADHESIVE CARTON SEALING TAPES

Self adhesive carton sealing tapes come in a great variety of different guises, different film and adhesive formulations often make it difficult to accurately compare like for like. Of all of these we stock the three most commonly used types to be found on the market. First there is P.V.C. generally just referred to as vinyl. This used to be the accepted bench mark self adhesive tape, with its 35mµ. film thickness, silent and slow release characteristics as well as the ability to tear the film using nothing more than your fingertips, thus avoiding the need for a dispenser. This particular type of tape has seen a decline in usage over recent years due to the introduction of the more competitive silent release tapes. These are basically a polypropylene tape that has a particular combination of adhesive and film properties that allow its release characteristics to be very similar to those of vinyl. The most notable difference being that this type of tape is very difficult to tear using your fingertips alone and is best used in a tape dispenser with an integral blade. Lastly there is the standard polypropylene tape (often advertised simply as box sealing tape), this type although being the most competitively priced, still has incredible strength and is very widely used in all sorts of packing environments. Most easily recognised by its rapid release from the roll, often accompanied by a loud noise, this tape is best used on a dispenser with an adjustable brake.

Carton Sealing Tapes

All the above prices are per roll, there are 36 rolls per carton however we can sell in any quantity in multiples of 6 rolls. Although there is a wide variety of tapes to choose from they are all suitable for carton sealing, they will all fit on a standard tape gun capable of taking rolls with a core size of 75mm. The vinyl tapes and the easy tear silent release tapes can be used without a tape gun if preferred as the film can be torn by hand, the others will need to be cut.

Used in conjunction with specialised dispensers these tapes are an extremely efficient means of closure for polythene bags. Available ex-stock in a range of colours we can supply these either in full cartons or in packs of six.

Coloured tapes for these machines are available in red, blue, green, yellow, white and orange.

You can of course mix and match the colours (min 6 per colour) to get better price break.

 PRINTED TAPES

Both vinyl and polypropylene tapes can be printed with custom designs in up to three colours. We are not only able to help with the artwork for your tape but also provide you with a full colour proof of what the finished product will look like. White tape is generally used but if you require a particular base colour this can be applied as a flood coat, giving you the greater flexibility to retain your company image etc. Pricing of this product is not affected by what you want to see printed on your tape, just the number of colours and the quantity of rolls ordered. Notes on printing: We are able to print most things on tape but a few words on what is and what is not possible. 

Quantity: The minimum quantity we are realistically able to produce is 72 rolls, we can, if necessary produce just 36 rolls but the total cost will be little different to that if you took 72 rolls.

Colours & Tints: All colours must be spot colours, by that I mean that we cannot reproduce a tint or a fade, unfortunately tape printing technology is such that the dots required to produce a tint would be so large as to make the design horrible. We can match a tint with a spot Pantone colour but this would be another colour and the price would change accordingly. We are able to use pretty much any Pantone colour on vinyl tape, on polypropylene however colours are more limited so an exact match may not be possible, please ask.

Lines & Drawings: Fine lines can be reproduced to pretty high degree of detail but there is always a danger of a very thin line becoming interrupted, best to keep all lines to minimum of 0.5 mm. 

Flood Coats: If you choose to have a tape either flood coated (a block of single colour covering 100% of the tape) or wish to have your design reversed out of a flood, then there will be a feint line at the junction between the end of the last print with the beginning of the next. 

Fonts: We have well over 1000 fonts on file so if we cant match your font exactly we should be able to get pretty close. Alternatively if you have a unique font then if you can send us the font (PC format) on disk or email,  we will be happy to use your own font for the design.

Artwork & Formats: If you have already a design on computer we will be happy to use your own artwork. We are able to accept .ai (Adobe Illustrator), .cdr (Corel Draw) or .eps (Encapsulated Post Script) Please be sure to export your file with all fonts converted to curves and export to PC format, we will of course be happy to discuss with you any questions you may have with regard to compatibility. .jpegs, .gif, .tiff, .bmp, .wmf and all other bitmap formats cannot really be used as artwork, well the text at least, if you only have the design in bitmap format we would be happy to advise what is possible, if the worst comes to the worst we will re-draw.

Origination Charges: The first time that a design is produced, the artwork, supplied or otherwise, has to be reset, from this a set of printing plates are produced. For this there is a charge, this charge is only applied on the first order, should the plates need replacing over time there is no extra cost to you, unless of course you change the design in some way. Origination costs are as below:

Delivery: On new jobs delivery is on average about 14 working days, all the above prices are CARRIAGE PAID, UK Mainland. 

 We do have available ex-stock 48mm x 66mtr white carton sealing tape overprinted 'FRAGILE', 'FRAGILE HANDLE WITH CARE', 'CAUTION', 'GLASS WITH CARE' and 'THIS WAY UP' For these the minimum is just 6 rolls and when used with a bench tape dispenser can be a very economical way of dispensing self adhesive labels.

SPECIALISED TAPES

It would be impossible for us to do justice to the whole field of specialist tapes on one web page let alone one site, therefore in the interest in brevity we shall concentrate on those tapes we either carry on the shelf or, sell most frequently. We can supply almost any type and make of specialist tape, if you have a particular requirement, contact us, give as much information as you can and we will try to help.

• Crossweave reinforced tape. Heavy duty clear polypropylene tape reinforced with fibre to give phenomenal strength and shear resistance, used for case and crate sealing. Standard widths 12mm, 19mm, 25mm, 38mm, 50mm, 75mm, all roll lengths 50mtr.
• Double sided tape. From stock on a polypropylene or tissue base in the following widths 12mm, 25mm, 50mm, all roll lengths 50mtr. More specialised types available to order on a whole variety of base materials and adhesive properties dependent upon the application for which the product is required.
• P.V.C. insulation tape. In a variety of qualities, colours, widths as well as roll length combinations this product is not generally held on the shelf but can be supplied at short notice. Also available printed with standard hazard warning colours.
• Cloth tapes. Either un-coated or with a waterproof poly. coating (gaffer tapes & silver ducting tapes). An extremely versatile product with almost no end of uses. Range of colours, densities widths and roll lengths can be supplied.

Gummed paper tapes are a time honoured method of case sealing, activated using a special water filled dispenser this product gives a very professional finish. Available in three Kraft weights as well as reinforced gummed paper tape is available ex-stock in the sizes listed below.
